Care of water is the task and responsibility of every individual. This means that every person on the planet Earth, regardless of the place of his life, should make a personal contribution to the next generation's good living conditions. Water supply resources, which define life on Earth and the biodiversity available to us, oblige us to be rational, and not just rational, but to take care of them. Drinking water reserves are not inexhaustible. The dynamic development of the society and the increasing pressure on the natural environment, and then on the water, are becoming one of the key issues of sustainable development, as contamination of ground water and surface water also contributes to the reduction of water supply. The paper analyzes the water quality of the river Drava, which is the second largest Croatian river. Water was sampled at four different locations during 9th, 11th and 12th month in places where it is assumed that there is the greatest possibility of pollution, starting from Donji Miholjac across Bistrinci and Visnjevac, all the way up to place where Drava goes to Dunav. Based on the oblation results classification tables of water quality indicators were made according to the Water Classification Regulation, NN 77/98.
