Financial management is a set of theories, principles and techniques that deal with the acquirement and management of money of business subjects, government or individuals. Financial management (corporate finances) studies the management of a company (business subject) and involves acquiring, managing and financing resources for a company (business firm, enterprise). Financial control is a concept closely related to the concept of financial management, in which the subject of financial control, according to traditional approach, is the problem of acquiring funds or commitments in accounts answering the question what is a company- a broad capital invested in a secure functional alternative. Success is the most important aim of a company, and financial management is directly responsible for the company’s success. The aim of this paper is to investigate and analyze how the development of financial management influences the business success of a business firm, and it relates to the specifics of managers in micro, small and medium enterprise, position management in Croatia (educational background, a typical Croatian manager of the company and the range of salaries, the end of the paper we analyzed the profile of financial managers, trainees in finance, Chief Financial Officer, financial analysts and portfolio managers and others.
