Abstract
Justinijanova kodifikacija je cjelokupna zbirka važećeg rimskog prava nastala po nalogu bizantskog cara Justinijana I. Velikog. Poznata je i po latinskom nazivu, Corpus Iuris Civilis, kojeg su skovali glosatori (11.-13.st), komentatori Justinijanovog zakonodavstva. Justinijan je imao veliku pomoć od strane kancelara Tribonijana koji je zaslužan što je kodifikacija završena u kratkom roku (527.-534.). Kodifikacija se sastoji od slijedećih dijelova: Codex, Digesta, Institutiones i Novellae.... More Codex su zbirke carskih konstitucija. Prva, Codex Iustinianus, stupila je na snagu 529. Tijekom rada na kodifikaciji je stavljena izvan snage, a potom i zagubljena. Codex repetitiae praelectionis je nova zbirka carskih konstitucija nastala 534. kojom je Codex Iustinianus stavljena izvan snage. Digesta ili Pandectae je zbirka pravničkog prava te najteži i najambiciozniji kodifikatorni pothvat. Objavljena je i stupila na snagu 533. nakon tri godine rada. Institutiones, objavljene 533., bile su udžbeničke strukture te su primarno služile za pravnu naobrazbu. Novellae su konstitucije koje je donio Justinijan nakon proglašenja Codexa 534. Abstract (english)
Code of Justinian is complete collection of current Roman law created by the order of byzantine emperor Justinian I. the Great. It is also known by its latin title, Corpus Iuris Civilis, which was coined by the glossators (11.-13th century), commentators of Justinian's legislation. Justinian had great help from chancellor Tribonian, who was responsible that the codification was completed in short period (527.-534.). The codification consists of the following parts: Codex, Digesta,... More Institutiones and Novellae. Codex is collection of imperial constitutions. The first, Codex Iustinianus took effect in 529. During the work on the codification it was repealed, and then lost. Codex repetitiae praelectionis was new collection of imperial constitutions created in 534. by which Codex Iustinianus was repealed. Digesta or Pandectae was a collection of jurist law and the most difficult and ambitious codification effort. It was declared and took effect in 533. after three years of work. Institutiones, declared 533., were the structure of a textbook and served primarily for legal education. Novellae were constitutions made by Justinian after the declaration of Codex 534.
