Plum is the most widespread in Croatia in the cultivation of fruit. It is grown for centuries due to the high use value of fruits and relatively modest requirements on environmental factors. Most are grown for processing, and therefore a very small amount is used for fresh production. The production of plums and plum brandy has a long tradition in Slavonia. Homemade plum brandy is one of the most recognizable products of family farms whose economic potential has not been exploited sufficiently. Developing production of plums requires significant investments and improvements in technological and organizational terms. The results of the analysis show that investment in the plantation plum achieved a positive economic result, which is somewhat more sensitive to changes in the selling price of the product. It should be noted that over the years the costs increases and price of plums decreases. Annual net receipt does not provide sufficient funds to support the average family, and the cultivation of 1 ha can be recommended as an additional activity on the economies that have available labor force, land and minimal resources. For specialization in this production it requires a larger area, and that means more investment. Also the return on investment has a long wait time which result in the low annual net revenues compared to the initial investment.
