Abstract
Završni rad „ Razvoj Babilonske države i prava“ podijeljen je kroz dijelove teorijskog rada, a ti dijelovi su; gospodarska i društvena slika Babilona, društveni slojevi, državno ustrojstvo i pravo, formalno-pravna vrela za upoznavanje prava u Mezopotamiji, oblici vladavine, porezi, vojska, sudstvo, opća obilježja babilonskog prava, grane prava, stvarno pravo, obvezno pravo, bračno i obiteljsko pravo, nasljedno pravo, kazneno pravo te sudski postupak. Babilonska država od 19-16. stoljeća pr.n.e. zaslužuje najviše pažnje zbog nove kvalitete u kulturnom i državno-pravnom životu. Bitno je spomenuti Hamurabijev zakon jer pokazuje prirodu države, vladara, vlasti, društva i prava te njihov međusoban odnos. Također će se objasniti vrhunac starobabilonskog razdoblja kojeg je predstavljala vladavina kralja Hamurabija.
Abstract (english)
Graduate paper entitled „Development of State and Law of Babel“ is divided in several theorecital chapters and they are: economic and social image of Babylon, social strata, organization of state and law, formal and legal sources of law in Mesopotamia, forms of gouvernment, taxes, military, judiciary, general features of Babylonian law, branch of law, law on property, law on obligations, marital and family right, law on inheritance, criminal law and court procedure. The Babylonian state of the 19-16th cent. BC deserves the most attention due to the new quality in cultural and legal life of the state. It is important to mention the Code of Hammurabi because it shows the nature of the state, rulers, government, society and law and their mutual relationship. The paper also explain the peak of the Old Babylonian era which was represented by the rule of King Hammurabi
