Abstract
Računalne igre imaju dugu povijest, no do komercijalizacije računalnih igara dolazi nakon tehnološkog napretka i kvalitetnih marketinških aktivnosti. S vremenom je sve više ljudi koristilo platforme za igranje računalnih igara, što je dovelo i do nastanka različitih žanrova. U današnje vrijeme postoji veoma velik broj različitih žanrova i njihovih podvrsta, a industrija video igara nije bila nikad jača. Njezin razvoj i rast nastavljaju se i dalje. Ovaj je rad pokazao kako postoje različiti modeli monetizacije video igara, kao što su modeli besplatnih igara, klasičnog plaćanja za fizičke i digitalne primjerke, mikrotransakcije i dodatni sadržaji (DLC-ovi) te model pretplate. Svi ti modeli pridonose kontinuiranom i progresivnom rastu prihoda video industrije, a u posljednje vrijeme posebno su visoki prihodi od prodaje mobilnih igara koji su 2016. godine po prvi put u povijesti nadmašili prihode od prodaje igara za PC i konzole. Jačanju industrije računalnih igara doprinose i različite platforme za preuzimanje igara kao što su Steam, Playstation Plus, Xbox Live, Google Play Store, Apple Play Store, i dr.
Abstract (english)
Computer games have a long history, but the commercialization of computer games comes after technological advancement and high-quality marketing activities. Over time, more and more people used platforms for playing computer games, which led to the emergence of different genres. Nowadays there is a large number of different genres and their subtypes, and the video game industry has never been stronger. Her development and growth continues to rise. This work showed that there are different models of monetization of video games, such as free gaming models, classic payment for physical and digital copies, micro transactions and additional content (DLCs), and a subscription model. All of these models are contributing to continued and progressive growth in video industry revenue, and in recent years are particularly high sales revenues for mobile games that in 2016 for the first time in history surpassed revenue from PC and console gaming sales. Boosting the gaming industry is also contributed by various download platforms such as Steam, Playstation Plus, Xbox Live, Google Play Store, Apple Play Store
